This Embarcadero hotel – formerly the San Francisco YMCA – is now an "appealing" Kimpton boutique boasting a "superb" location, "courteous, kind" employees and "earthy" yet "hip" decor with a "modern flair"; "like a Mini Cooper convinced it's a Bentley", "compact" rooms have "beautiful appointments" and amenities – from free WiFi and flat-screen TVs "right down to the robe and socks" – but many are so "tiny" they're "wall-to-wall bed" ("smaller than many prison cells"); in short, "not recommended for families with children" or business colleagues, but "well-suited for one traveling alone."

Great location, nice freebies (champagne, coffee service) pet friendly.

Expensive hotel parking could not accommodate our truck, hard to find alternative parking in area.

The Harbor Court was an excellent hotel for the price, location & level of accommodations that it provided. The staff was always friendly & helpful, which made up for the small room we had.

Great lobby. Very helpful staff.

The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The only drawback was that the room was a bit small. The staff was very accommodating in helping to arrange a car rental.

It had the worst lobby staffs ever.

This is a very conveniently located hotel. It is not luxurious or upscale but clean & tidy. My biggest complain with this hotel is the staffs ((lobby, door)). They are very unprofessional. I don't think I've ever seen such unfriendly staff in any hotel. I didn't expect Hyatt, Westin level quality but I was expecting similar to Marriott, Hilton level service & I was sorely disappointed. The charming Harbor Court hotel is located in a very exciting, "happening", and beautiful area of San Francisco. At 8 stories, it has the feel of an elegant and classic Nob Hill hotel and is just steps from the spectacular Embarcadero waterfront and several of San Francisco's best restaurants and clubs. It is a short and interesting walk to the financial/downtown areas and to stroll along the famous waterfront.
